The Social Help Desks

A first point of access to information and support services

The Social Help Desks are the first point of access to information, guidance and support services for individuals and families facing situations of vulnerability or need. They provide a local, community-based presence, designed to foster direct contact between citizens and the network of social, social-health and Third Sector services.

Their main role is to welcome people, listen to their needs, provide clear information on the rights and opportunities available to them, and guide them towards the most appropriate services.

A point of reference for the local community

The Social Help Desks work with an approach founded on listening, confidentiality and putting the person at the centre, making services accessible even to those who find it hardest to approach public institutions.
